Stretch Mark #10 Perfect Attendance

For the first time I got a perfect attendance Award. They gave me a certificate in school. It was our class meeting. I was surprise when I got it. It was hard waking up in the morning and going to class every single day. It felt good because It was my first time getting a perfect attendance award. People couldn’t believe it. I was stocked and surprise at the same time. Like I said before is hard to go everyday day to class. Specially when you feel sick. Sometimes in the morning I didn’t feel like waking up in the morning. There was some occasions were I stayed up late doing homework. Is hard staying up late and wake up early in the morning. I got perfect attendance because I wanted a stretch marks. Stretch Marks is a big part of your grade and I don’t want to failed. Getting perfect attendance it prove to me that I can do it and proved to people that if you up for it you can do it. My parents thought I couldn’t do it, but I proved them wrong. I’m always absent twice every semester. I get sick easily because the weather changes. It’s unpredictable. I’m glad I got perfect attendance because this will helped me in the future I guess. I can’t be absent in college because then I’ll miss the class and in college you pay for your classes they don’t care if your absent because you’re the one paying. If you miss one class you’ll get lost. That’s why I’m glad I did this because it will helped me because it proves to me that if I’m up to it I know I can’t miss. We get tired of school, but we need it for our future. If you want to succeed in life you need to go to school everyday.

Stretch Mark #19 Burton Tax Office

I had been in the Academy of Finance for two years and every year we do the Burton Tax Office. We prepared people taxes, but before we do that they have to trained us. We spend mostly a month practicing. We go over some cases and some cases are hard to do. We get certified first. In order to prepared taxes we need to get certified. We have to take this test and if we don’t pass we can’t worked on the Tax Office until we do. I was glad because I got one of the highest grade on the test. For some weird reason! I like to prepared people taxes. Its fun specially when you’re helping out people in your community. The Burton Tax office provides free services to people who have low income. We try our best in helping them. After you help that person you feel happy because you helped them. People thank you and it feels good. The Burton Tax office is open from March through May. The days they opened are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturdays. On Monday and Wednesday is open from 4 o’clock to 7 o’clock. On Sunday’s Its open from 10 o’clock to 2 o’clock. The Burton Tax office gets really busy. People come by and it feels good because they trust us with there taxes. Mr. Flannery and Mr. Singer are great teachers. They know there stuff and they explained it well. Mr. Flannery use to be a Vice President on a bank. Once he told us his experience. He told us the three thing we have to do in other to become rich. Health, don’t divorce and know how to manage your money. I learn a lot from his class. I’ll miss his class a lot. We didn’t do anything. We just sit there and hear him talked for the whole entire period.

Entry #17 First Time attending an All Star game.

This is year was my first time attending an All Star game. I was excited because I was attending to an All Star game an actually participating. The All Star game was on May 6, 2010. Two weeks ago! I had a lot of fun. Girls from San Francisco School District come together as a team and play each other. Two or three girls from each school are in a team. The schools that were with were Galileo, O’connell, Marshall, and Lincoln. On the other team were Washington, Lowell, Mission, Balboa, and June Jordan. We played each other, but they beat us 1 to 0. We had a lot of chances. We had a lot of fun. I met new girls from other schools and It was a great experience. I’m going to miss High School a lot. It was a tough game. Those girls were pretty good. They know how to kick a ball. Well, they kick the ball it went to the other end of the field. They lost like three ball. The O’Connell Couch was pissed off because it was his balls. I was laughing because of the looked he had on his face. You could tell that he was getting mad. We played for 90 minutes. I had a lot of fun because like I said before I met new girls. They were nice, but its weird how they acted so friendly there, but when there was the real game they acted differently. After the game they gave us two slice of pizza. It was from Costco and It was good, but It was cold. After the game we hang out for a while and then we left. We had our laughs and it was fun. I’ll remember this memories for life. I’ll miss my high school days when I’m in College. Specially, my soccer teammates and my coaches.

Stretch Mark#16 Sizzler

My first time going to Sizzler. I went to Sizzler with my family and friends on my birthday. My birthday was on March 14. I wanted to spend that day with my family and friends. I was turning eighteen, so we decided to go to Sizzler. It was my first time going and the food was delicious. I had some shrimp. I was really good. What I liked the most was the salad bar. They had some good chicken. I eat very little, hut when I went to Sizzler I ate a lot. I was surprised how much I ate. My parents and friends were delighted too. They loved the food like I did. We spend a great time. We chat for a long while and we had some laughs. It was a special day. I was surprised because a lady and two men came and sang happy birthday to me. They brought a glass of ice cream with a candle on top. They told me to make a wish and I did. I had a great time. I would never forget that day. I loved that day because I spend time with my whole family. It had been a while since we didn’t hang out together and I miss those days. We don’t hang out that much because we go to church and they work a lot. I really miss those days. We just to go out every single weekend together, but now we don’t. Anyways, we had a great time at Sizzler and we plan to go there soon. I loved the food and service. They know how to treat people. I recommend people to go to Sizzler. It has a great environment and its a great place you could go with your family and friends. I can’t wait until we go once again. I had a lot of fun!

Stretch Mark #15 Guitar Practice

I’m learning how to play the guitar. I want to play the guitar because I want to be able to play it at church. I go to practice every Saturday at 10 o’clock. I had been going for the last month. Its hard! I want to give up sometimes. I get frustrated because I don’t get the note and I have to press hard the strings and my fingers hurt a lot. I really want to learn, but like I said before its hard. Sometimes I feel like breaking my guitar into two pieces. Since I was little I desire to be able to play the guitar. I need to be patient and practice a lot more. I get mad too because I see other people get it really easy, but I don’t. I think if I want to be able to learn I need to put all into it. I don’t practice that much in my house because I don’t have time. I have to go to school and when I come home I spent all of my time doing homework. I need to be able to manage my time and I need to have some time to practice my guitar. It would be hard, but I know I could do it. This is a challenge I could succeed. I could just imagine myself playing my guitar at church days. I want to be able to play with my church friends. Almost all my friends play in our church band. It will be so cool if I join them. I know I will someday I will, but I want that day to come as soon as possible. That’s my desired being able to play in my church band. In my birthday they gave me a guitar. Is black and beautiful. It’s my first guitar and I love it.

Stretch Mark #14 Dissecting Rats

In my physiology class we had to dissect rats. It was my first time dissecting an animal. It was nasty I couldn’t stand the smell. I almost threw up in class. Just the fact of touching a rat was killing me. We worked in groups of three or four. The people who were in my team was Daniela, Gabriela, and me. I had to touch the rat because it was my grade. I had a bad grade and if I didn’t participate in that project it would go down even more. It was hard for me, but I faced my fear and grossness and I accomplish my goal. I was able to dissect a rat. Like now, I can’t believe I did it. I dissected the rat, but later in the day I couldn’t eat because I was so gross out. I got really sick! We had to dissect a rat because we had to see the inside of the rat. We had to see its organs. Their organs are so small, but it looks like ours. The smell was awful! We saw its liver, lungs, heart, kidneys, veins, and other organs. It was fun looking at it. I learn a lot from doing that project, but we had to be so delicate. Science is not one of my strongest subjects. I don’t like science at all. I get bad grades on the tests, but I actually like this project we did. I was kind of fun and cool at the same time. It felt like we were giving someone surgery. We had to cut the rat in half. We had to be careful because we didn’t want to cut the organs. If we did something wrong we would get a bad grade. I’m grad we did good because we got full credit. Oh, and we had to identify the organs too.

Stretch Mark #12 Team Captain

First time being captain for a sports team. I was team captain for the girl’s soccer team. I was surprised when they told me. I couldn’t believe it. I was shocked when they told me. Ms. Bradly and Ms. Amy were the Coaches. They choose me because they said I had skills and that I was a great leader. They choose me too because I didn’t missed practiced and I was on time all the time. I really love soccer! It’s my favorite sport! My parents say that soccer is for boys, but I love to play it. When I play soccer I forget about my problems. I was disappointed because I didn’t scored a goal. I wanted to score one and delicate to my parents, but It just didn’t happen. I really wanted to score one. Jenna scored on and I was shocked because It was her first year playing soccer. I played for the school soccer team for two years. Junior year and Senior year! It was fun while it lasted. From being captain I learn how to be patient and lead people. It was hard being captain because you have to lead the team and motivated them. It was fun though. I don’t plan playing it when I’m in college because I will have a hard time managing my time. Anyways, I’m not that good in soccer. My friends say I am and other say I’m not, so I guess I’m in the middle. If I want to try out for the college team I will need to have more skills and practice a lot. I still want to play soccer. It’s my passion! I watch soccer games. My favorite team is Barcelona. My soccer ideal is Lionel Messi. This guy has a lot of skills. His the world’s best soccer player right now. His from Argentina! He knows how to play.

Stretch Mark #11 Bowling

I went bowling for the first time in my life. I went with my church friends. It was pretty cool. We had a lot of fun. I thought it was going to be easy, but now I think different. I was hard for me. I was the one who lost. My goal was hitting a strike, but I couldn’t. I was disappointed it. I think for the first time bowling I did good because I hit a lot of pins. My friends were surprised and they said I did pretty good. I want to go bowling again I had a lot of fun. My friends are cool friends and they supported me and motivated me. I wanted to give up because at the beginning I didn’t knock a single pin. I was getting mad, but then I realize that I was my first time and that I needed to be patient. I just need to practice and I know I can get better. In bowling you need strength and aim. Those bowling balls were pretty heavy. It’s funny because I had to just the one’s for little kids. It was embarrassing. My friends are pretty good at it. They knock a lot of strikes and I was empress. They know hoe to play very well. I can’t wait until be go bowling once again. I had a lot of fun. I spend a lot of time with my friends and they know how to make your day worth living. I love them because they understand me and I understand them. That’s why I can’t wait until there’s church days because I get to see them once again. We have a lot of fun when we spend it together. I think soon we going out again, but this time were going to the part and play soccer.

Stretch Mark #18 Yearbook

This is my first year joining yearbook. I was excited because I was going to be part of yearbook. Ms. Enger is a great yearbook teacher. I’ll miss her a lot! I’ll miss her cupcakes she just to make for us on our birthday! Anyways, in yearbook I learn a lot of stuff. It was a great experience! I was there for only one Semester. I failed gym so I had to take it once again! The pages I did in yearbook were the Boys soccer page and the girl’s basketball page. At first it was hard for me because I didn’t know how to design the page. For each page we had to use a layout. It was hard because we needed we had to do it differently than other people. Yearbook was king of stressing, but its worth it. We got to design our on yearbook. I was happy because most of the people loved the yearbook. They said we did a great job. Thanks so Ms. Enger since she was the one who lead us. What I like about our yearbook is that our name is stamp on the cover. It looks really nice. I love it! The yearbook is kind of small, but it has a lot of pictures. Yearbook was an awesome experience and I’ll never forget it. I met new people in that class and I gain a lot of skills. For example, responsibility, listening, and communication skills! This will help me in college big time. I’m glad I took this class. I recommend people joining this class when their a Senior because they get to create their yearbook. Its fun, but stressing because you have to keep up with the deadlines, but Ms. Enger was so nice that each time after a deadline. She would bring us Pizza and we just to watch a movie.

Stretch Mark #13 SF State

My first time going to San Francisco State! I went to San Francisco State because I had to take the placement test. The placement was on April 24, 2010. It was on a Saturday! On that Friday I was scared because I want to get a good score. I was afraid because they said that test is hard and that you have to do good if you don’t want to end up in the remedial class. I don’t want to end up in that class. I was so scared that I didn’t sleep that night. That morning I had to wake up early in the morning. I woke up at 6:40 am I had to get ready because at 8 o’clock I had to be there. I brush my teeth and took a shower. I took a long time getting ready, so my parents had to drop me off. When I got there the line wasn’t that long, but five minutes later the line got really long. I was glad that I came early because I don’t like to wait that long. I saw I look people from Burton. I saw Gaby,Curtis, Monica, and other people. All of us were afraid. They assign different class for each one. I wanted to be in a class with Burton student, but I didn’t. I was in a class with strange people. People I didn’t know. The test was pretty long it took me like 4 to 5 hours. I was tired because the first thing we had to do is an essay. The essay prompt I got was pretty easy. Then we had some multiple choice questions for the English part of the test. We had to do a lot of reading. We had so little time to answer a bunch of questions. Then it came to the Math section. The Math section was easy. I know I did good in that part.
